On Thursday, Nov. 5, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a public hearing to discuss plans to replace the Route 61 bridge over the New River in Narrows. The bridge will be replaced using funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The public hearing will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Narrows Community Center located at 110 Mary Street, Narrows, Va 24124.
The meeting will be held in an “open house” format and no formal presentation will be given. The public is invited to review the plans any time between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. VDOT staff will be available to answer questions about the plans.
Written comments about the project may be submitted at the meeting or until Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 by mail to Mr. Richard L. Caywood, P.E., Virginia Department of Transportation, P.O.
