Albemarle County Republicans' doors glued shut on election day

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Republicans arriving at the party’s Albemarle County headquarters Tuesday morning discovered what appeared to be an Election Day dirty trick.

Party officials say that someone glued shut the Albemarle Square shopping center building’s two doors overnight with some sort of epoxy.

“We eventually managed to force the front doors open,” said Chris Schoenewald, chairman of the county GOP. “There’s some damage, but nothing that can’t be fixed.”

Schoenewald did not blame Democrats for the vandalism, saying that he has no idea who might have sought to lock out Republican volunteers on Election Day.
