Reconstruction and renovations at the historic Pulaski Train Station are now underway.
The building burned almost one year ago. Investigators believe the fire started in the attic, and was probably electrical.
This week, construction crews started working to return the station to its original roots.
The outside will be an exact replica of how the depot looked before the fire.
"On the inside there will be some differences," said Economic Development Director John White. "It will have a sprinkler system so we don't have a repeat of the tragedy. We've redesigned some of the interior rooms and it will really be a public meeting space."
The contract calls for the train station to be completed in one year, but the on-site superintendent says he hopes to have it finished before then.
