I'm in Blacksburg. I spoke with John Clark, a current member of the Virginia Tech Army ROTC.

Clark said he watchng the events in Fort Hood, Texas unfold on television has hard enough, but to know the suspect was a former Hokie makes it even worse.

"When I found out more details of course it was more shocking. These soldiers were preparing to go overseas and then they get killed on their own base... It's just too bad he happened to be a Virginia Tech graduate," Clark said.
