Chili cook-off in Christiansburg benefits local charities

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The warm weather was perfect timing for the Sinkland Farms "Chili Cook-off, Wine and Brew Festival" on Saturday afternoon.

About 15 chili competitors took part in the event.

This was the second annual festival, but this year, Sinkland Farms opened it up to wineries.

"We have ten wineries and breweries from the region. They range as far away as Palmyra, Virginia to as close as Chateau Morrissette near the Floyd County area," said Susan Sink.

The festival goes until 8 p.m. Saturday.

The proceeds benefit The New River Land Trust and The Jacksonville Center of the Arts.
