Kipps elementary reaching out to Fort Hood community

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Students and teachers at Kipps Elementary School in Blacksburg are reaching out to the Fort Hood community.

After the Virginia Tech shootings, a school in D.C. sent Kipps Elementary students brand new teddy bears to offer them comfort during their healing process.

The students are now collecting their own teddy bears and doing the same for elementary kids at Fort Hood.

"It makes me feel really well because you know you're helping somebody else," said Fourth Grader Nicholas Bundren.

Teachers say their goal is to collect 700 teddy bears to sent to Fort Hood, Texas.

If you'd like to help, you can drop off a bear at the school.

Over the weekend, you can take it to Food Lion, which is located on Prices Fork Road in Blacksburg.
