All pets safe after fire at Valley View Petsmart

» 2 Comments | Post a Comment

All pets are safe after a fire broke out at the Valley View Petsmart today.
Roanoke Fire-EMS responded a little after 1 Saturday afternoon.
The sprinklers contained the fire but there was still heavy smoke coming from the building.
Shoppers in the store acted fast to save the animals.
Jackie Tranchese, who was in the store when the fire started, says when they heard a popping noise and the sprinkler went off, shoppers grabbed the animals and ran outside.
Both Petsmart and Target were evacuated.
We don't know the cause of the fire yet but it is under investigation.
