Martinsville Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a payday lending store.

It happened Monday around 11:15 a.m. at the Approved Cash Advance store at 1314 South Memorial Boulevard. An employee tells police a man came into the store and said he was going to rob it. The employee opened the cash drawer and showed the man that the drawer was empty. The front desk worker called for another employee to come to the front of the store. That's when the man left, getting into a burgundy or red-colored car believed to be a Honda. The car was seen going southbound on Memorial Boulevard.

No one was hurt. Police say no property was damaged or stolen during the incident. No arrests have been made.

If you have information that could help police, call Crime Stoppers at (276) 63-CRIME or (276) 632-7463.
