RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Warren Miller and Shelid Freeman packed food ahead of time so they wouldn't have to stop at restaurants during their drive from Columbus, Ohio, to Virginia for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Freeman says the economy has caused her to tighten her spending this year.
Miller says the economy seems to have improved between this Thanksgiving and last, but things are still tight.
The couple say they have no plans to do any shopping during their visit to Virginia.
Freeman and Miller stopped at a rest stop in Interstate 64 in New Kent County early Wednesday morning. The Columbus couple were heading to Virginia Beach with Freeman's two daughters and her grandson to visit Freeman's parents for Thanksgiving.
