Black Friday crowd in Roanoke

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Black Friday lived up to its name, as it was pitch black outside when shoppers started lining up.

There were an estimated 500 people outside Toys 'R Us when the store opened at midnight. The line stretched all the way to TGI Fridays.

The next stop for many was Old Navy, which opened at 3:00a.m.. The manager there says they also saw about 500 customers. He expected about 200. The check out line stretched all the way back to the dressing rooms.

Roanoke Police say other than a few arguments, the early morning shopping crowd was well behaved.
