It is Black Friday, which means stores are using extended hours and deep discounts to lure in shoppers.
And it seems to be working in the Star City.
Hundreds of people lined up outside of Valley View's Toys 'R' Us Thursday night. The doors opened at midnight and there were hundreds of eager shoppers stretching all the way to T.G.I. Friday's.
Many people were trying to get a "Zhu Zhu Pet", the robotic hamster is one of this year's must-have toys.
Matt Kelly, who was one of the first in line at Toy's 'R' Us, wanted to get one for his daughter and says the $8 price tag is not a wallet buster. He says they are hard to find, "they are absolutely impossible to find. We have searched Wal-Mart's, Target, websites are listing out of stock indefinitely. So when they said, first 100 guaranteed, I had to get it."
Old Navy was also a popular place to be Friday morning.
The first 75 customers got a free copy of the new Lego Rockband video game.
The store manager tells WSLS 500 people were waiting to get in when the doors opened at 3 a.m., which is more than they were expecting.
One man told us he drove an hour and a half from West Virginia to check out the deals.
