A man faces charges in Roanoke, after arriving in the city with an infant child on a bus Monday evening.

In a news release from the Roanoke City Police Department, investigators say the child is the Harold Gilbert's daughter, and he left the child with a stranger shortly after arriving in Roanoke.

Police originally looked into the case, after receiving a call about a possible child abduction. Officers say the abduction claim turned out to be wrong.

Gilbert is charged with felony child neglect.
