Roanoke City Police arrest man in shooting, chase

Roanoke City Police say they've arrested a man in connection with a shooting and police chase.

Officers tell us the shooting happened on Saturday, October 17th, around 1:44 a.m.
Officers say they found a vehicle that matched the description on Forest Park Boulevard, near its intersection with Palm Avenue. An officer tried to pull over the vehicle for a traffic stop, but the driver did not stop.

The chase ended when the car crashed into a building in the 2900 block of Glengary Avenue. Police arrested Jones there.

Jones faces charges of shooting into an occupied dwelling, and failure to stop for police.
