State Police say news stories about the new timeline they released in the Morgan Harrington case have generated several new tips.
Investigators are looking into those tips, but do not have any new information as of Thursday afternoon.
The Virginia Tech student from Roanoke County disappeared two weekends ago, after attending a Metallica concert at the University of Virginia's John Paul Jones arena.
Morgan's parents, Dan and Gil Harrington, released a statement through a PR firm on Thursday morning. It thanks the investigators working on the case, Metallica, and the people who have shown support for their family.
Here's is that statement:
We sincerely thank the Virginia State Police Department, University of Virginia Police Department, members of Metallica, and the many people who have shown their support in this difficult time. We are doing everything in our power to bring Morgan home. We appreciate your prayers and ask that you continue to share any information you can with law enforcement so that we can find our daughter.
