A juror called the newsroom and agreed to be interviewed.

The juror said the case came close to being a hung jury.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the vote was 11-1 to convict, according to the juror.

The lone hold-out changed his/her vote when the jury returned to deliberate Thursday morning.

It took the other eleven members about an hour Thursday morning to convince the hold out to vote guilty.

The juror said all twelve agreed Young is mentally ill, but in the end the jury found Young's attorneys failed to prove he was insane under the legal definition at the time of the offenses.

The juror said Young's actions after the parking lot attack is what swayed most jurors.

Floyd County commonwealth's attorney Stephanie Shortt argued, after the attack, Young became upset when informed he was going to jail, and later started planning an insanity defense.

The juror said none of the twelve felt Young was inherently evil.

But many did feel he is cold, calculating, and manipulative.
