BRISTOL, Va. (AP) - Questions are being raised about whether a
Tennessee nursing home company ignored employee reports of patient
abuse.
James Wright, 35, was indicted in Virginia last month on four
counts of aggravated sexual battery against patients at a nursing
home in Bristol owned by Murfreesboro-based National Healthcare
Corp.
The Virginia Board of Nursing is also looking into whether
Wright abused four other patients.
NHC didn't respond to numerous requests for comment from news
outlets.
Former NHC employees Patricia Davenport and Diane Lewis told the
Bristol Herald Courier and WJHL-TV that supervisors ignored their
reports of patient abuse.
Davenport went to criminal investigators in 2007 with her
contention that she saw Wright sexually assault two patients.
