RICHLANDS, Va. (AP) - The former chief of the Richlands Fire

A Tazewell County Circuit Court jury found 59-year-old William
Darrell Vance of Richlands guilty on Thursday of eight counts of
aggravated sexual battery and two counts of indecent liberties.
Vance was indicted last year by grand juries in Tazewell and
Russell counties. The trial was held in Tazewell County.
Virginia State Police Sgt. Michael Conroy had said earlier that
police identified three female victims ages 6 to 13. The offenses
occurred from 1996 to 2007.
