A rainy weekend set one viewer off. Not because it rained, but because of what our Storm Team said about it.
Sandy Duke of Willis called to say, “I am just so tired of hearing your people complain that it rained on the weekend, and I heard that from Alyssa Corfont Friday night.”
WSLS responds: Sandy thanks for the call. You know, it's only natural to whine about rain ruining a weekend. But, perhaps we should all keep in mind just how much we need rain… not only for our yards, but to help cool things down. In fact, a nice refreshing shower sounds pretty good!
Another viewer has a suggestion for Storm Team 10...
Vice D’Amelio wrote, “Please have your weather people include the humidity forecast with the overnight temperature forecast. With the number of 90 degree days we have had, we all are looking for opportunities to open our windows at night, but if the overnight humidity is going to be in the 80's or above, even if the temperature is going to be in the sixties, it is too clammy to open windows.”
Vince, your suggestion has been passed along to Jeff and the team. Thanks.
Finally, our coverage of the Summer Music Games wasn't quite enough for Charles Knapp.
He called to say, “I'm calling concerning the Summer Music Games. You mentioned that it was put on by the Salem Band Boosters and was to benefit the Pride of Salem. What you failed to mention was the Pride of Salem was the state champions this year, and it would have been nice to have, you know, said that considering one of the best high school bands in the country last year placed number one in the state and also placed extremely high in the nation.”
WSLS responds: Charles, thanks for the call. I’m sorry we omitted the pride of Salem's championship in the Summer Music Games story, but please remember that we did cover Salem's national championship when it happened, and hopefully by including your phone call today we've reminded people about their success.
