Here’s your weekend events forecast, starting with tonight, the third and final night for Dickens of a Christmas which runs from 6 to 10. Tonight is the SPCA's pet costume contest but, there will also be all the traditional elements of the festival including carolers, carriage rides and of course photos with Santa. If you’re heading out, nothing out of the ordinary here, it’s going to be cold with temperatures falling through the low 30s.
Heading into Saturday, it's the last weekend before Christmas and if you have some last minute shopping you could run into a few travel difficulties towards the eastern side of the area Saturday night into Sunday, possibly waking up Sunday morning to a small accumulation. Otherwise, the western fringe of the area should stay clear with a passing snow shower possible, but no real accumulation expected at this time.
The Stagg bowl is also on Saturday where conditions are expected to be drastically different from last year's snowy game. If you’re heading to Salem stadium, kick off is at 3:30 with temperatures expected to be in the upper 30s falling to near freezing by the end of the 4th quarter.
And finally on Sunday, if you're wanting to celebrate outdoors, there's "Living Christmas" at the Good Shepherd Baptist church. The event will be going on from 5 to 8pm with a live nativity, hayrides and once you're nice and frozen you can head indoors for some hot cocoa. This event is free and great for the family but if you’re heading out, know that it will be cold, with temperatures falling from freezing into the upper 20s.
