The Roanoke Valley Model Train Engineers are hoping more people will jump on board.
The group held an open house Saturday at the Transportation Museum in Roanoke.
Organizers tell us the goal is to raise interest in model trains. They set up three different exhibits, and parents we spoke with say it's a hit.
"Our girls love model trains and we just got one that they really love, and we were just looking for something to do on a Saturday morning," said Megan Miller, who brought her children to the museum.
Group leaders tell us that because they had such a good turn out, they plan to have more open houses in the future.
