LEXINGTON - Blame the weather for a fire that destroyed a Lexington landmark.
Lexington Fire and Rescue Chief Ty Dickerson tells WSLS that State Police have listed a lightning strike as the probable cause for the fire at the Southern Inn last week.
Dickerson says investigators believe the lightning strike caused a surge in an electrical conduit in the restaurant's kitchen ceiling, against the wall.
State Police agents are still working on a full report.
