A Heat Advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. for Appomattox, Campbell, Charlotte, Halifax, Nelson and Pittsylvania Counties.
Temperatures in the 96 to 101 degree range will combine with humidity to force heat index values up into 105 to 110 degrees.
Prolonged exposure to the extreme heat could quickly caus dehydration and heat related illnesses. Drink plenty of water and take breaks out of the sun.
