Roanoke has seen temperatures average 79.5 this month, which is 6th warmest. High temperatures have been above average at 90.9 degrees, which is the 8th hottest on record. Low temperatures have been warm as well averaging 68.1, which is 7th warmest.
Lynchburg's average temperature for the month of July is 78.8 degrees making it the 11th warmest on record. High temperatures though are the 3rd hottest on record so far at 92.2 degrees. Low temperatures are not in the top 10 hottest coming in at 65.4 on average.
Danville is the hottest city in our area with an average temperature of 80.9 degrees this month. That is the 6th hottest on record. High temperatures have averaged 94.1 degrees which is the second hottest on record. Low temperatures do not rank in the top 10 with an average low of 67.8 this month.
Not only have we seen 90 degree days, but 100 degree temperature have shown up this year. This month, Roanoke and Lynchburg have hit 100 twice with Danville seeing 4 days over 100.
