Former bankruptcy attorney's clients to get a share of more than $43,000

ROANOKE - A judge ruled clients of former Roanoke bankruptcy attorney Ann Marie Miller to split $43,000 proportionately.

The same circuit court judge effectively put Miller out of business last fall after numerous complaints about the way she handled cases.

The Virginia State Bar found 286 clients with issues on the way Miller handled their bankruptcy cases.

Most of those clients were out between $300 to $1,200 since Miller never took their cases to bankruptcy court.

Some former clients have also applied to receive compensation from a victims' fund set up by the Virginia State Bar.
