The family of a heart attack survivor gave a big thanks today to the men and women who saved their loved one’s life.

Norma Anderson’s family says they were on the way back from North Carolina when they noticed that she was unconscious. After calling 911, Franklin County EMT's, police and Carilion clinic’s lifeguard 10 helicopter showed up, and rescue crews were able to save Anderson’s life.

The family gathered with the some of the rescuers this afternoon to show their appreciation for the crew’s services.

“Always have a friend, just always, God is always going to send somebody when you is in need. We should always just be thankful," said Anderson.

Norma was supposed to take a ride on the helicopter during the event but lifeguard 10 was called out. The rescuers say they will gladly plan the flight on another day.
