Southside nursing school gets federal grant

PITTSYLVANIA CO. - A federal grant will help bring more nurses to southside.

The new School of Practical Nursing in Pittsylvania County is getting nearly $100,000.

The money will pay for equipment and supplies.

Congressman Tom Perriello announced the grant Tuesday.

There will be room for 30 students when the school opens this fall.

The practical nursing program takes between 12 and 18 months to complete.
