Late night fire sends Roanoke firefighter to the hospital

ROANOKE - Roanoke Fire-EMS was called to fire in the 700 block of Patterson Avenue SW just before midnight Thursday.

When firefighters arrived there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the two story building.

No one was in the building at the time.

A firefighter got some debris in his eye. He was treated and released.

The department says the damage is around $25,000.

The fire has been ruled accidental.
