DANVILLE - A grand jury indicted a Danville man on his 21st birthday in a December sexual assault on a 14-year-old, according to arrest records and court documents.
Michael John Lancaster was charged with rape and carnal knowledge on March 1. He is being held without bond in the Danville City Jail. Lancaster will appear in Danville Circuit Court on May 4.
The victim, a 14-year-old girl, told police Lancaster took off her pants and underwear and held her down on Dec. 15, when he had sex with her, according to Danville Circuit Court records. The victim told Lancaster to stop several times.
After the incident, Lancaster told a Danville police officer that he and the victim had consensual sex, according to court documents. Lancaster said he was 17. Then he said he was 20 and that he didn’t have sex with the victim.
Lancaster told a detective that he was 17 years old and was unsure of a phone number and address, according to court documents. The detective spoke with Lancaster later, when he said that he was 20 years old.
