LEXINGTON - Washington and Lee University awarded degree to 411 students on Thursday.
Graduation day proved to be a bit of a contrast with arrival day for the class of 2010. In the Fall of 2006, W&L says it rained on the class' arrival. Thursday, a sunny day greeted their commencement.
20 students received two degrees, a new record according to W&L. 31% of the graduates graduated with more than one major.
Washington and Lee President Kenneth P. Ruscio told the graduates and their families that it "remains important where people 'acquire and hone their values,' and that institutions matter in this regard," according to a news release.
