Christian Heritage Academy receives challenge grant promise

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A challenge has been issued at Christian Heritage Academy.

The private school in Rocky Mount says someone has offered up to $40,000 to the school, as a matching donation. The school has until Thanksgiving to raise the money.

CHA Headmaster Deke Andrews said in a news release, that this represents the largest potential single gift during the school's 30 year history, other than isolated capital campaigns. Andrews added that the gift is needed due to a surge of new students.

"We have probably extended more financial aid this year than ever before," said Andrews, in the release. "Our desire is that tuition would never be the sole, prohibitive factor in preventing a student's enrollment. Our matching gift campaign should cover the cost of scholarships and leave a cushion for next year as well."

For more information on how to give, go to www.chaknights.org or call (540) 483-5855.
