This Saturday the Virginia Tech Hokies will face off with JMU for Tech's first home football game of the season.  At halftime the Marching Virginians will band together with the Marching Royal Dukes performing together to raise money to fight ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease.

20 college marching bands across the nation will dedicate one of their halftime performances to raise money.  Director of the MVs, David McKee, tells WSLS that he hopes to raise $45,000Kristin Fischer, a former MV and now grad student at Virginia Tech, says that her mother is fighting this illness and is excited that the Marching Virginians are raising money for this cause.  The MV's also lost an alum to this ALS last year.
