Weekend events forecast

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The weekend looks to start off great Friday evening.  If you’re heading out to Friday night football games expect partly cloudy skies and temperatures falling from the mid 70s through the mid 60s.

Saturday won’t be as nice with mostly cloudy skies around resulting in cooler temperatures for the Henry Street Festival in downtown Roanoke and for Virginia Tech’s first home football game of the season.  There’s also the chance for scattered showers and storms, mainly in the afternoon.

A better chance for showers will move in Saturday night with a few showers lingering around for the first half of Sunday.  We’ll start to see a clearing Sunday afternoon which should lead to slightly warmer temperatures Sunday afternoon.  This is good news for the 75th Anniversary celebration of the Blue Ridge Parkway that is going on all weekend, wrapping up around 3pm Sunday.
