Senator Mark Warner's office says a deal to end the partial shutdown of the FAA will likely be passed in the Senate Friday.
This is great news for Roanoke Regional Airport. The shutdown has delayed the start of construction on a new five million dollar fire station at the airport. Airport leaders worried that the stall would force construction to begin next year, resulting in higher building costs.
As long as no one shows up on the senate floor to object the measure, it will pass as "unanimous consent."
