Payroll tax cut extension: what it means for you

»  Comments | Post a Comment

We are just days away from the New Year, but Congress is still in a gridlock when it comes to payroll tax cuts.

If Congress has not acted by January 1, your taxes may go up. For example, the average American family who earns $50,000 per year, would see a $1,000 tax increase

There would also be some changes for Medicare patients. Some 48-million seniors could be in a tight spot, as they would lose medicare doctor reimbursments.

That is not all, for people on long term unemployment benefits, those would expire, impacting more than 2-million unemployed people.
