About 250 people in Blacksburg spent Saturday morning running for a good cause.
The annual Frosty 5K raised more than $2,200 for the Hokies For Crouse family fund. Officer Deriek Crouse was killed in the line of duty on the Virginia Tech campus earlier this month.
Organizers say this is the largest turnout they have ever had, and were happy to see so many come out to support what they feel is a very worthwhile cause.
"We originally had planned this for December 3rd and then with the ACC championship, we had to move it back, and we just decided to give the funds to someone who really needed them" says Ian Shreckengast, the Frosty 5K Organizer.
More than $124,000 has been raised since the Hokies For Crouse fund began.
