Kaine on MSNBC: Fully expect Webb to run in 2012

»  Comments | Post a Comment

In a Tuesday afternoon interview with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell, former Virginia Governor, and current Democratic National Committee ChairmanTim Kaine said he has "no reason to believe" that Virginia Senator Jim Webb, a fellow Democrat, will not run for re-election in 2012.

"I just believe for a variety of reasons ... That he's going to run," Kaine told Mitchell, adding that he had no specific knowledge of Sen. Webb's plans.

Mitchell then asked Kaine if Webb does not run, would he consider a Senate run in 2012?  Kaine responded by saying he is not going to consider a 2012 run.  Kaine added that his job as DNC Chairman keeps him busy working for the President, and he fully expects to support Webb.
