Our story about the severe weather damage at a local condo complex had one viewer pointing out a mistake.
Judy Hensley emailed, "Regarding WSLS's coverage of Southview Condos, the folks who live there are not tenants. They own their homes, thus the interview with the VP of the Homeowners' Association.”
WSLS responds: Judy, good point. Our reporter made a mistake and should have referred to the residents at the condos as "homeowners." Thanks for the catch.
Meanwhile, our coverage of a possible hookah bar had one viewer fuming.
Dr. Mary Martinasek wrote, "I recently viewed your report about a hookah bar opening in your area. I must say I was disappointed that there was no mention of the ill effects of hookah in your TV spot. Hookah research has shown it to be as addicting as cigarette smoking and contains many of the same carcinogens. Another grave concern is the high carbon monoxide levels that it produces. It seems as a news anchor you would want to alert your residents to the dangers of smoking hookah as opposed to advertising for the bar."
WSLS responds: Thanks for the email. Our initial story on this bar was brief and if something more comes of the bar your points will warrant some additional research from our staff and a possible follow up story. Thanks for the suggestion.
