Our new channel, 10.3 Me-TV, which shows many old, hit shows is quickly becoming a new hit with our viewers.
One viewer called to say, "I would like to congratulate you on opening up your new channel 10 dash 3. I think it's fantastic and, uh, we can go down memory lane once again."
While another added, "I like to thank you for putting 10.3 on television. We are really channel 10 watchers."
Dan Dooley called with this question: "I just heard a comment by Jay Warren on the 6 o'clock evening news about a new channel, 10.3. I called the cable company, Cox Cable, and they were unaware of it and don't know how to access it. I was wondering how to go about accessing it.”
WSLS responds: Thanks for the comments. We're glad so many people are enjoying our new channel. Dan, to answer your question, Me-TV 10.3 is off air only, meaning you can only get it right now from an antenna not through the cable company. But we have had conversations with Cox about adding to the cable system and hope that will happen soon.
Our coverage of a Radford dog who bit two people and was ordered to be put down, only to have a judge spare his life on appeal had one viewers asking what's the big deal?
They said, “Oliver the dog. It's been on for 15 minutes and y’all have talked about Oliver the dog 3 times already. It's a dog. Big whoop.”
WSLS responds: Thanks for the call. This was a story that involved many different elements including neighbor reaction, the emotions from the family, and the judicial system. all of that was newsworthy. We understand that not every story will interest every viewer, which is why we try to have a diverse mix of stories spread out throughout our 90 minutes of local news from 5 to 6:30.
Finally, we got this email from a loyal viewer who likes a new feature on our Storm Team 10 maps.
Alma and Ken Mathis of Franklin County wrote, "We've been away and just noticed that you have SML on your weather map! We had given up on getting that done but are delighted that we are seeing it. Many thanks to you and WSLS for making this happen. Please forward to your boss so that he will know just how much we love you guys and your station too. THANKS!”
