EMTs treat hundreds at Lynchburg Air Show

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Hundreds received medical treatment, mostly for heat exhaustion, at Lynchburg's weekend air show.

At Centra's mobile ER tent, 35 patients were treated and released on Saturday.  Another five patients were taken to the hospital.  On Sunday 20 patients were treated and released at the tent, three were transported.

Lynchburg EMS was originally asked to provide only two EMS workers on bikes each day of the air show, at the request of Campbell County.  Lynchburg EMS scheduled two extra ambulances in the city.

Those ambulances and three others, responded to the air show Saturday, as part of a mutual aid agreement.

Lynchburg EMS treated 75-100 patients Saturday, and another 25 Sunday at the show.
