Last week, we aired several complaints about the severe weather cut-ins Storm Team Ten Chief Meteorologist Jeff Haniewich recently made.
This week we received several notes thanking Jeff.
Skip Carter emailed, "As I watched you Newscast tonight, I could not help but to hear the complaining from your listeners about interrupting coverage to cover your storm reports. They even called your weather forecasters names. As a retired Navy Chief I cannot even believe that these individuals cannot conceive how important these weather forecasts can be. I was at sea for over 16 years and I know how violent storms can be. I would advise: wake-up and be prepared. Keep up the good work."
While another viewer wrote, "Your coverage was necessary and timely. It would have been criminal NOT to have provided it. No matter the situation, all school principals, vice-principals, parents, etc., responsible for the lives of our children, whether school is in session or not, want all the information we can get as fast as we can get it. I think WSLS served us well and hope you will only increase your vigilance for public safety. Please ignore all criticism about tornado coverage and timely information about any other crisis situation. A TV show can be recovered. A lost life cannot."
Meanwhile, Pat Robertson stepped into another controversy last week telling his viewers on the 700 Club, which airs on WSLS, that it was okay to divorce a spouse who has Alzheimer's disease.
And for one viewer, that was enough.
Jean emailed, “Will you PLEASE tell whomever needs to be told, please, please take Pat Robertson off of Channel 10. I cannot stand him, have never liked him. But, now he has completely outdone himself!!! The 700 Club should be on pay-per-view."
WSLS responds: Jean, I have forwarded your email to the station managers.
Another viewer wishes we still aired a different program, Dr. Oz.
Sandy Taylor posted on my Facebook wall, "Hey Jay, has Dr. Oz Show been moved to another time slot. Some of us in Dublin are missing him in the afternoons. Hope you will continue to carry the show. Big let down."
WSLS responds: Sandy, starting last week WSLS no longer aired Dr. Oz. His show was replaced by the Nate Berkus show. We hope you'll like it as well.
