A special art show called "Best in Show" featuring portraits of pets is helping raise money for the Roanoke Valley SPCA.

190 pieces of art from local artists hung at the Taubman Museum of Art Friday night.  Each painting is priced between $30 and $400.

Artist Ann Glover has sold her pieces every year at "Best in Show" since the first fundraiser.

“This is helping with their mission and I get do something I really want to do, so it works all the way around,” Glover said.

“I think the community's support of something like this shows that Roanoke is a very caring community,” Barbara Dalhouse, RVSPCA board president.

Anything that doesn't sell tonight will be posted on the SPCA's website.
