A miniature billboard sends a message about the Ten Commandments for drivers traveling on Route 21 in Wythe County.
"I hand-painted the background, and put it on there where it could be legible," said Stan Scott, who designed and put up the sign.
The owners paid $950 for the 4X8 foot replica of the Ten Commandments, but wish to remain anonymous.
Scott is upset with civil liberties groups fighting to remove the Commandments from Giles County Schools.
"They keep trying to make it an even playing field and all that. You know our country was designed on Christian concepts," Scott said.
The billboard stands at 11 feet tall. It is not as large as anything along an interstate, but if your coming from Boone, North Carolina to Wytheville, or in the opposite direction, it is high enough to see.
Glenthia Fisher, who works in nearby Speedwell, was surprised when she saw the bold statement.
"You're surprised when you see someone display their religious beliefs, but I was really impressed," said Fisher.
As for Scott, he hopes his creation will inspire others to send a similar message.
