»  Comments | Post a Comment

A Roanoke man, trying to cross Electric Road on foot, was hit by oncoming traffic about 11:30 Saturday morning.

The Roanoke County Police Department says the 68-year old was crossing Electric Road in front of Tanglewood Mall at Wendy's.

He was seen on the concrete median waiting to cross the southbound lanes of traffic. Investigators say he stepped out into oncoming traffic and was hit by an oncoming vehicle. He then hit another vehicle, which was stationary, due to traffic.

He was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
