The biggest names in music will hit the red carpet to celebrate the annual Grammy Awards, including a southwest Virginia man.
DJ Cox graduated from Giles High School in 2006.
He's a member of the band Royal Tailor.
Their debut album, Black and White, is up for best contemporary Christian album at tonight's awards show.
Their first single, "Hold Me Together," hit the airwaves across our region last year.
"The Grammy phone call was like, hey mom, it's D.J., this is 2 O' clock in the morning, mom we're going to the Grammy's, and I remember going, okay that's great I'll talk to you in the morning. I hung up and it didn't register until the morning. We called and we were screaming," said Lori Baker, Cox's mother.
The expedited success has given the band a larger platform to deliver their message about Jesus Christ, Cox tells WSLS.
The group is set to open for Christian music moguls Casting Crowns on their upcoming tour, with a date in Lynchburg set for February 18th at the Vines Center.
