Virginia State Police released the name of one of the two people killed in a pick-up truck crash in Bedford County on Tuesday night.
Sergeant Robert Carpentieri, of State Police's Salem division, said 44-year-old Andrew William Heck Jr., of Goodview, was the driver of the pick-up truck that crashed into the Goodview Road Grocery Store, just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night. He later died.
Sgt. Carpentieri said a second man who also in the truck died overnight. The passenger was severely burned, and Sgt. Carpentieri said the Medical Examiner's office in Roanoke would have to make a positive identification before he could release the man's name.
Investigators believe Heck Jr. Lost control of the truck as he crossed railroad tracks. Somehow the pick-up truck got launched into the air, and crashed into the front of the state.
State Police are still investigating.
