Snow is on the way for many of you and crews are getting ready around the area.
According to the National Weather Service, Southwestern Virginia, Southeastern West Virginia, New River Valley and along the Blue Ridge are all included in the winter storm warning.
The Virginia Department of Transportation tells ten on your side it is ready.
The Agency said it began prepping Friday-- putting plows and spreaders on trucks. Crews usually pre-treat roads ahead of time but say you will not see trucks out ahead of this storm because it's expected to start out as rain. Crews will instead wash the brine solution off roads.
Appalachian Power also says it is preparing work crews ahead of time. According to a news release more than 300 line workers and 50 damage assessment specials are standing by to help restore power if necessary.
We'll be sure to continue updating you on this storm as it develops. We have crews standing by throughout the area to bring you the very latest when it happens.
