On Saturday, South Boston Police Department were called to Carrington Street in reference to a burglary.
According to the police report, the suspect got in through a basement window.
The victim said two firearms were stolen from his home.
The Virginia State Police K-9 tracking unit was called and the K-9 tracked the suspect to a residence on Leigh Street, according to a news release,
Police Captain Brian Lovelace says officers received enough information from the homeowner to enter and search the residence where officers found the two stolen firearms.
Mark W. Womack, 33, was arrested and charged with two counts Grand Larceny of Firearms, two counts possession of firearms by a convicted felon and one count of Breaking & Entering a residence.
According to the police report Womack was held without bond at the regional jail.
