The Greater Raleigh Court Civic League presented a check for $1,000 to the librarian at Fishburn Park Elementary School.
Lynn Pagans, the librarian at the school was surprised with the donation.
"I had no idea. I am so shocked. This is great," said Lynn Pagans.
Pagans says the money will go towards buying environmental themed books for the library.
"This will really boost our collection. It's a wonderful way to start the week," said Pagan.
The donation is part of the Greater Raleigh Court Civic League's pilot classroom grant program, to help elementary teachers pay for classroom activities.
