The Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office uncovered an indoor marijuana growing operation Thursday after serving a narcotics search warrant, officials said.
The sheriff’s office, coordinating with the Central Virginia Drug Task Force, served the warrant at 1182 Bent Creek Road.
Officials seized about $23,000 worth of marijuana in different stages of production. Eight firearms were also seized, including a 12-gauge pump shotgun authorities said was illegally modified.
Charges are pending against the homeowners, whose names have not yet been released
“This search warrant exemplifies my commitment to investigating, and arresting, those involved in the production and distribution of illegal drugs in Appomattox County,” Sheriff Barry Letterman said in the release.
