Forget New York City, King Kong has come to the Star City!

Crews brought in a massive King Kong exhibit to Downtown Roanoke today (Thursday), as part of an upcoming exhibit at the Taubman Museum of Art.  They used a crane to lift it onto the museum's balcony that faces Interestate 581.

The exhibit is the brainchild of Rockbridge County artist Mark Cline.

It opens to the public next month, and runs through March.

The statue is 15-feet tall and weighs about 400lbs.  It will be placed on a platform base and will be visible to drivers within a week.
